Guidelines for Ministry Fair Tables
To be successful we need:
· Volunteers to man your booth who can explain your ministry and how being involved with the ministry has improved their life.
· Volunteers to set up and tear down your booth.
· Decoration (an interest catcher) to attract people to your booth.
· A trifold display board (or other type of board) to describe your ministry. Photos of people in action, other “advertising” attractions, etc
· A handout to be given to those who visit your booth—one sheet of paper or (?) explaining your ministry. The long form of the Ministry Catalog as a minimum might be considered adequate. Be creative and innovative to attract others to your ministry.
Other Information
There will be Time/Talent signup sheets at the fair. We don’t expect people to sign up on that day. The Fair is to inform, educate and perk peoples’ interest. The Time/talent signup form can be given out at the Fair but will be collected the following weekend (Commitment Sunday Oct 17-18) at all Masses.
OK the Fair is Over-----now the second and perhaps most important part of the task---contacting people who signed up!
Contact everyone who signed up indicating interest in your Ministry. Depending on the type of Ministry do training, explaining and initiations within two weeks of Commitment Sunday. Others, such as Eucharistic Ministers, Altar servers, Lectors etc may have group training activities occurring immediately after the Commitment Sunday.
Also: You will need a volunteer to send a thank you letter to everyone who signed up (indicated interest) for your ministry, and remind them of your orientation or training date (if any).
